1. I've been reading New Avengers, and you know? The more I get to know Tony, the more I hate what certain writers did to him in Civil War. (I haven't read all of it, but I have bits and pieces, and plenty of summaries.)
Considering it was a contradictory mess anyway, maybe I can just take the bits where he's pragmatic, arrogant, torn, and finally too far down a path spiralling out of his control to go back, and not the ones where he commits and condones atrocities and injustice and blatant stupidity.
He was far from the only character derailed - even Cap got tossed the Idiot Ball constantly - but he definitely got it the worst.
The worst part is, if all the writers had been on the same page, if they'd been subtle and thoughtful and consistent, Civil War could have been pretty brilliant.

I thought I was a good, decent fan who knew of such things, but this was a pleasant surprise for me today:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Damaged_Go ods,
Damaged Goods by RTD. Golly gee. Can anyone out there offer comments on this 1996 book without giving too much of the plot away (I do plan to read it now!)?
Thanks!

Title: Prophecy.
Characters: Mostly Ten 1/2 & Ten, DoctorDonna & sundry others in the background.
Rating: PG
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who. Wish I did, but I don't--just playing with some ideas.
Summary: Ten 1/2 is thinking about his purpose from the moment he wakes up stark naked until everything falls apart with Davros.
This is one of my "what if" fix-its for the fated "Journey's End" episode. Anyone who knows me knows very well that I'm still coping with it...Please overlook the discrepancies of details that I meant to keep, and I hope you understand the new bits I used to "fix" the scene.

So, here's a random question for you all.
Is there a comm or some such thing that keeps track of all the fic fests/big bangs/that sort of thing that go on? I know they pop up every so often (the fests, not the comm) and I was just wondering if there was something that did announcements even if it was just the starting/ending of submissions posts for them.
If not, how do you wind up finding out about various fic-writing things such as that?

...TGIO (Thank God It's Over) party, and it was so much fun. There weren't very many people there, because it's a weekday, and it was in Decatur. (There's another couple on Sunday, but I can't go, because I'm doing the talent show). However, it was still totes awesome.
I sang a couple of songs (I brought Kaylee with me... we're kind of NaNoFamous), and everyone read excerpts from their novels. I got some stickers, too. (I am such a dork).
I also got to talk to someone about hidden object games, which I'm really getting back into of late. There's a new Mystery Case Files (my favorite series) out, but it's the collector's edition, which means it's $20, and they don't accept game credits. So, while I wait for the regular edition to come out at some point in the next week, I've been playing some new games.
I found a code to get Hidden Expedition: Everest for free. I played it yesterday, and I really enjoyed it. I'm going to get the next one in the series soon.
Today, I got Escape the Museum, because I've heard it's really long. (It's AWESOME...I've played for about three hours, and I'm barely 1/2 way through). I wanted to buy the second one, too, but I only had one game credit left, and I'm saving it for the new MCF game.
Then, I joined something on Big Fish Games (which is where I buy all my games), and I was supposed to get two codes to get two games free (it was a here's five options, choose two, kind of thing), but the e-mail didn't have any codes in it. I e-mailed the website, and today, they sent me two codes that applied to any games on the website (except special editions). I was so excited. How nice it that? So, I got Escape from the Museum 2, and I'm going to get the second Hidden Expedition with the other one. (I'll get the third Hidden Expedition when I get my next game credit at the end of December).
I know none of you care, but I'm excited. (And I think Jess plays HOGs, so maybe someone will actually find this interesting).

In reference to some of the comments on this post:
Kissing is neither "distasteful" nor inherently squicky. I don't care if it's guy/girl, guy/guy, girl/girl, or two hermaphroditic aliens from the planet Fail. It's. Just. Kissing.
Also, words have context beyond their Webster's definition, so please stop quoting the dictionary. You are not Humpty Dumpty, and words do not mean exactly what you say they do, no more and no less.

Look. You're fic had a decent summary. I read it with mild curiosity.
One of the things I expect from the Bleach universe is maybe... shinigami, hollows, vizards, anything supernatural that would give Ichigo a bad day.
Not what seems to be you whining through an Ichigo mask about his classes. I'm not an expect in Japanese schooling, but this looks absolutely nothing like Karakura High. Did you read that part of the manga or just skipped ahead a bit? I really doubt Ichigo's about to refer to women as 'bitchy little girls'. Still no mention of the 6-7 classmates we know the names of.
I read the author's note at the end, and guess what?! You admit that it was your day. For god sakes fine, you've got inspiration but put them in freaken character.
Rant in your journal, don't kill a fandom and a character.

(Sorry for the spamming.)
Err, I have a shiny new Bones mood theme! I've never actually had a complete mood theme before and am more excited about this than I should be. I feel more accomplished about figuring out how to upload it etc. than is entirely reasonable, seeing as I just followed directions and still got it wrong twice. Yeah... I just wanted to squee about it.
(Eventually I'll revamp the user info and layout too--I recently learned comic sans is not a widely appreciated font, gotta do something about that.)

Title: He'll Always Come Back
Rating: G
Fandom: Doctor Who
Pairings: Ten/Rose
Length: 937 words
Summary: The Doctor has been gone for two days, leaving Rose with her mom but now he's back and Rose wants to know where he was and why he left her behind.
Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who, I'm just a fan. As in fanatic, not something that moves air.
Author's Notes: I wrote this almost an entire year ago and just found it on my computer again. This story could take place at two different times, depending on your choice. Either Doomsday never happened (or at least the part where Rose and her mom got trapped in the parallel world) and this is a few years later or Human!Ten and Rose were given a piece of the Tardis at the end of Journey's End to grow their own like originally planned and this is after their Tardis is fully grown and operational or whatever.

Also, an update on the gallery situation at The Medusa Cascade: I moved the site to a new host but in the process, I had to delete all the images in the gallery to make the transfer go smoothly. All the links will be the same when it comes back up. Right now the majority of the screencaps are uploaded to the new server and I am working on getting them re-added to the gallery. However it is still not ready to be opened up to the public just yet. I'm hoping it'll be ready for me to put it back online by Christmas but there are no guarantees. Sorry about this!

So the skin of my hands and feet have dried out so badly that my fingers are cracking and my feet are literally peeling off.
Gross...I know.
But annoying as hell too!
Any suggestions on some good lotions or something? I got some things today...not sure they'll work but it's worth a try.
Anyhoo...just wanted to momentarily bitch...move along now...nothing to see. :-)
