I'm behind on my word count, but if I hit 32,000 tonight and average 2,000 words a day for the rest of November, I can still make it! ...let's see if that happens. :/
Good news time: I have almost finished my RL Christmas shopping! I'm doing it all online but that's irrelevant! My mom is the only one I haven't bought for yet, and I'm pretty sure I know what's I'm getting her. (Related: FLIST. WISHLISTS. Pls? :O ) Animorphs is apparently being rereleased in 2012 with new covers and (possibly) somewhat modernized content! There are new Doctor Who spoiler filming pics on the Internet!

...I need to stop spending money.
(Today I bought two Discworld books plus the Doctor Who "The Beginning" DVD set. All excellent purchases, but still, I need to stop spending money.)
(In related news, I am still waiting for my signed copy of the xkcd book. Or even a shipping notice, I would take a shipping notice happily. COME ON, RANDALL. Please? I realized when I ordered it that I would probably regret ordering a signed copy, but I thought that would be because of the price hike not the interminable wait. *sadfaces a bit*)

I actually wrote fic last night! *flail* Okay, it's under five hundred words, it's Ghostwriter fic of all things, and it probably sucks -- I haven't yet looked at it in the light of day -- but, still, I wrote something.

Have been spending absurd amounts of time hunting Doctor Who filming spoilers. I hate that we still have so long before we find out what kind of Doctor Matt Smith really will be. I'm excited about him.
My life continues to be boring. Job hunting, bah humbug.
I have, however, gotten caught up on Torchwood! ( spoilers, I guess, if anybody is even more behind than me )
Still have Psych, Pushing Daisies, Kings, and Dollhouse to get caught up on, but I'm getting closer! ...it's irritating how far behind I am in everything.

Teh Niki and I were discussing it, and we were both amused by the phrase, and one or the other of us said, "It's totally about us! Except neither of us drinks tea!" So at some point in this conversation I suggested the substitution of cookies, and she made the icon, and lo, you have our relationship in a nutshell.
Also, the cookies are chocolate chip, if there was any doubt.

My first solid introduction to online fandom was the official X-Files message board, way back in the day when I was very young. I needed a screenname, thought about it for a while, and finally impulsively decided to name myself after Kristen Kilar, the vampire wannabe Mulder hooks up with in the second-season episode "3". Rather than actually try to register a variant of "KristenKilar" or the like, I called myself chicafrom3. The name stuck, and still does, as you've noticed. This icon's really nothing more or less than a nod to the origins of my screenname -- Mulder and his vampire love interest.

So far today I've called Artist Arena to switch my concert tickets to the Friday show, sent off resume/references/letter to three theaters with job openings (an ME position, an assistant ME position, and a light board op position), and submitted "The End Of The Road (Is The Beginning Of Your Life)" to fic_tossed for a review. It's kind of sad that the most recent Whofic I've written was in September '07.
And! Artist Arena just e-mailed me again to tell me that the deal's been upgraded and now they'll be refunding the full cost of the tickets, so I'll be going to see the Friday show free of charge. Which is kind of awesome, yo. I mean it's not awesome that they're this desperate to get people to switch to Friday, and I feel bad for the people who can't switch and who might wind up getting turned away from the door on Saturday, and HoB kind of sucks for overselling their show, but I'm going to see the Pogues for no cost. That's kind of awesome.
Also that one Harper vid I was talking aboutseveral posts a month or so ago is very nearly done.
All in all, a good day so far.

Prompt submission for lgbtfest closes at 5PM EST today, so if you have any prompts you'd like to see written, get 'em in.
Also, I am bizarrely cheered up by the fact that pretty much every time I see a picture of Matt Smith, he's wearing a hat. I really, really want his Doctor to wear a hat. I am becoming more and more invested in the idea of the Eleventh Doctor wearing a hat the longer we go without official word on his costume, and the more photos of Matt in hats that I see.
