Word Count: 11,664.

So not much progress yet today. I like writing the nakama hanging out together, but they're hard to write, because not much happens while they're together aside from giving each other a hard time. Most of the scene so far has been devoted to establishing explicitly that Tommy is the Team Mom and Sara is the Team Dad and that the other four have never matured much past the ten-year-old stage. Blah.

I like this being-ahead-of-schedule thing, although now I am home from teh Niki's my productivity will probably go down. (It's very useful having someone in the room to bounce questions off of, okay?) Michael and Tess have both been introduced into the story proper; the band has released two songs on their YouTube account, one with a video and one without. There have been several pointless conversations, including Kyle trying to convince Liam he's not allowed to wear fingerless gloves in public, a band rehearsal stopping so the boys can quote xkcd at each other, a lengthy debate over the name of the band which was mostly just an excuse to toss TVTrope titles at each other, and a discussion of T stops.

Pointless.

Anyway. Now I am making peanut butter cookies for my brother-in-law and eating leftover Halloween candy. Yay! Have a meme, 'cause...I want to?

Meme, yo!

Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you either (a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon, (b) a reason he/she sucks, (c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes, (d) five things that never happened to that character or (e) five people that character never fell in love with and why. You pick the character. I pick the letter.

I actually wrote fic last night! *flail* Okay, it's under five hundred words, it's Ghostwriter fic of all things, and it probably sucks -- I haven't yet looked at it in the light of day -- but, still, I wrote something.

How many times has someone on your friends list posted about something and you were really confused, but you didn't want to ask because you knew you SHOULD know? How many times have you felt guilty asking a close LJ friend a question that should be obvious?

Well, here's your chance.

If you've missed a few things, missed an entry and are confused, ask me anything. Even something EXTREMELY basic, like where I live! I'm not allowed to get even slightly irritated at any of the questions - we've all missed things before.

Today I: finished unpacking; straightened up my room; deposited my uncashed paychecks in the bank; poked at backstagejobs.com; discovered that New York Theatre Workshop is accepting resumes; flailed; poked at ARTsearch; made myself sad because it's a paid subscription site and I don't have a subscription; updated my resume; finally ordered the new Chess DVD.

Look, I, like, did stuff today.

The Most Ghetto Counterweight System That Could has been replaced with proper sandbags now. With, er, four days of performances left to go. Um. Nevertheless, Proper Sandbags Yay!

A music meme! Because I ♥ my iTunes.

Step 1: Put your music player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: Strike through the songs when someone guesses both artist and track correctly.
Step 4: Looking the lyrics up on a search engine is CHEATING!
Step 5: If you like the game post your own

the music! )

...I'm gonna waive the 'artists' requirement for a lot of these, just because they're done by a lot of different people and it might be impossible to guess which particular version my iTunes shuffle came up with.

Also, several of these have their title in their first line, so, uh, yay, easy ones!

These are "favorite" rather than "best", mind you. I can admit that some of my favorite episodes really wouldn't qualify for a best list, and vice versa.

In other news, I think today definitely qualifies as a Good Day. <3 I went in to work this morning with the set crew to try and label the electrics to make changeover easier; we got some stuff done, but the Mousetrap set made us stop early. Which wasn't a bad thing, 'cause the Monmouth fair is this weekend! *flail* A bunch of us went down and spent the afternoon checking it out. Fair food! Games! Rides! Animals! (In games, I won a big stuffed snake and a tiny stuffed dolphin. The dolphin is named Cassie. The snake has not yet been named because I can't decide on an appropriate one for her. She's going to be the electrics mascot, though! Any ideas?) Also, I had fried dough and French fries and strawberry lemonade and I rode the carousel twice and it was very dorky fun. Then some of us hit up local yard and garage sales, and I wound up with two Star Wars books and a new pair of jeans and a fantastic sweater and a shirt and a mug for my mom, all for $2. Yes. $2 for all that. Then we had Mousetrap this evening, and everything was working at dimmer check, so during the show roommate and I holed up in our room and watched Coraline and ate ice cream and popcorn. Then changeover went kind of awesome -- my crew is very proud of themselves for their third changeover with no mistakes.

So...yeah. Good day. :)

Two shows tomorrow, though.

Me, joking around about not bringing on lights for the pianist: "She'll have plenty of real light, just no fake light. Uh."
The sound designer: "What?"
Me: "It's all real light. None of it is fake. I mean she'll have plenty of natural light, just no...stage light."
SD: "Right. No artificial light."
Me: "Right! Artificial light. Manmade. Except not like fire."
A confused pause.
Me: "Well, like fire, yeah. Only...not."
Another pause.
Me: "My metaphors always get away from me."
SD: "No, I understood you. Stage lights, they're like fire, only not at all like fire."

I am so awkward omg.

But anyway. job stuff yo )

Keywords: cookies!
by [info]nikiness

Once upon a time there was a [info]metaquotes post that involved the phrase "We're having hot lesbian sex. And by lesbian sex we mean tea. But it's still hot." This amused a great many people and inspired a great many icons. Teh Niki and I were discussing it, and we were both amused by the phrase, and one or the other of us said, "It's totally about us! Except neither of us drinks tea!" So at some point in this conversation I suggested the substitution of cookies, and she made the icon, and lo, you have our relationship in a nutshell.
Also, the cookies are chocolate chip, if there was any doubt.

Keywords: The X-Files - chicafrom3
by [info]fandomfrom3; don't take, plz!

There's another story behind this one, and again it's weirdly convoluted. My first solid introduction to online fandom was the official X-Files message board, way back in the day when I was very young. I needed a screenname, thought about it for a while, and finally impulsively decided to name myself after Kristen Kilar, the vampire wannabe Mulder hooks up with in the second-season episode "3". Rather than actually try to register a variant of "KristenKilar" or the like, I called myself chicafrom3. The name stuck, and still does, as you've noticed. This icon's really nothing more or less than a nod to the origins of my screenname -- Mulder and his vampire love interest.

Fools! I will destroy you all! Ask me how!
Snagged from [info]atrypical:

(1) Choose an episode of anime or television series you have on your computer. Make sure you're certain you want that one, you cannot change or mind once you skips this step. DO NOT TELL YOUR FLIST WHAT YOU CHOSE.
(2) Make note of how long the episode is here -> Length of episode(s) = A: 24:09, B: 24:09, C: 24:27, D: 23:59 Length: 42:01.69
(3) Ask your flist to choose a time between 00:00 and whatever the length of your episode(s) is are. Be specific, (ie: 19:11, 21:09, 02:42)
(4) Make them an icon using THAT FRAME ONLY no matter what it is. And remember, you can only use that ONE episode you chose previous, even if the person posting isn't familiar with it.

Snagged from [info]morgeil:

Picspam time! Pick one of my fandoms, comment with a character or relationship or episode (or tell me to pick my favourite), and I will do another post with some awesome pictures of said character/relationship/episode.
