So here is something you may or may not know about me, given that it's generally irrelevant: I was born in Maine. (So was my older sister. My younger brother, on the other hand, was born in Virginia, which is even more irrelevant but funny because when we were little we used to tease him about having been on the losing side of the American Civil War.) Anyway, yes, born in Maine. A good section of my mother's family lives in Maine to this day, and one of my dad's brothers has a weekend place in Maine. It's actually his wife's, I think, but that's sort of totally irrelevant.

And, as I've mentioned (did I actually mention the location here?), I'll be living and working in a theater in Maine for ten weeks starting in June.

The reason I am bringing this up is because, much like my soft spot for Massachusetts, I've always had a soft spot for Maine. It's a beautiful part of the country, and it's the place I was born, and Maine lobster is delicious, and I love it a lot.

Today, I have another reason to love it a lot.

...It's kind of like California's fail spurred the rest of the country into making up for it as fast as possible, isn't it? Anyway, the point is, YAY MAINE!

This is like one of those buddy-cop movies where you're the hard-nosed cop and I'm the guy who hates buddy-cop movies!

I LOVE YOU, [name withheld for casting spoiler].

WORDS CANNOT PROPERLY EXPRESS MY LOVE FOR YOU.

...THAT'S ALL.

Pushing Daisies 2x12 Water and Power, or: the thin line between makeout and stakeout )

I DON'T WANT THIS SHOW TO BE OVER. There's so many loose ends left dangling and only one episode left to wrap them up in. :/ Comic books aren't the same!

Tonight there is LOST, tomorrow I have an eye appointment because my glasses are ridiculously old and need to be replaced. ...I miss Pushing Daisies already and it's not even officially over yet. :(

I don't know if I can wait 'til fall for more new DW on my television computer screen!

Planet of the Dead, OMFGYAY )

So I think I need to rewatch to see if it holds up once the shiny-new-glee is gone, and I have a sneaking suspicion there are probably plot holes and other irritants, but right now I am riding high on squee and glee and I LOVE MY SHOW GUYS.

Watched Pushing Daisies 2x11 "Window Dressed To Kill" via those means that nonfannish people tend to call "illegal", by which I mean on YouTube and with Turkish subtitles. Oh, man, I missed this show so much.

word of the episode: adorable )

I MISSED THEM ALL SO MUCH. I missed Olive and Ned and Chuck and Emerson and Lily and Vivian and the Narrator and the random guest characters and the random crimes with complicated explanations and dead bodies and the way you can use "adorable" to describe a show that deals with such dark themes.

How did they cancel this show. How. HOW.

So, I have a job.

*glees a lot*

It doesn't start until mid-June and it only runs for ten weeks and the money's not great but it's a JOB. In a REAL THEATER. And it comes with room and board and workers' comp and a gym membership that I probably won't use and the fact that I don't drive, much less have a car, apparently won't matter and they sounded pleased to hear that I'm a geek who likes to hang around other geeks.

*glees and flails and HAS A JOB YO*

[non-job-related posts coming v. soon, I promise. I have a picspam I want to post and a couple memes I want to do and there's Dollhouse tonight, but this post is JOB GLEE, kk.]

Okay, I went into this kind of amazingly unspoiled for me, so this really is a stream-of-consciousness OMGWTF kind of review. Written as I watched! Well, during the commercial breaks, anyway.

cut for spoilerz for LOST 5x01 Because You Left )

Uhm. That left me much more squeeful and CAPSLOCKY and incoherent than I thought it would. MY SHOW IS BACK, U GAIZ. ♥♥♥

ZOMGILOVETHISSHOW*bawls*

In somewhat related news, watching the rerun of last week's episode has reminded me of my season-one desire that Kate's crime would turn out to be ecoterrorism. Clearly that didn't pan out, but wouldn't it have been awesome?

Three episode reaction posts in one!

I was going to do a full-length reaction to last night's Torchwood (2x04 'Meat'), but really all I have to say can be summed up as follows: This is quite homoerotic )

And then there's tonight's LOST, 4x02 'Confirmed Dead'. If you're going to sleep with my daughter, I insist you call me Ben )

Annnd, tonight's episode of Eli Stone, 1x02, which I can't be bothered to look up the name of. Reaction is short but sweet? If I can't overreact over a brain aneurysm, what can I overreact to? )

FINALLY!

spoilers for LOST 4x01 The Beginning of the End )

I MISSED MY SHOW SO MUCH. *hugs it tightly* I can't believe we only get seven more episodes this season. :( But it's BACK and as AWESOME as EVER and I'm HAPPY and hopefully my *coughspoilercough* guy will be back soon so I can stop calling him that for y'all on my flist who want to stay unspoiled.

Also, I watched Eli Stone and liked it, I think, although I need a few more episodes to decide. Eli reminded me of Nick George a little bit. And the whole premise is very Joan of Arcadia, isn't it, which isn't a criticism because I liked JoA the season that I watched. And Joan didn't have the lavish musical numbers that ES is promising. Anyway I'm not fannishly sold yet but I'll be watching again next week.
